Hi everyone!
A short introduction of me as a new member of this forum.
Short story i am a swede at 31 years old that for the last 5 years have become in love with the entire NVG scene. I started out as most wanna-be warriors at playing airsoft when i first saw my first Gen2 device (around 2006) and thought it was awesome, but i was a little to young really appreciate.
The year after i do my military service and get to use some Gen2+ NVD's for some testing and already loved it. I walked around camp at least 2 extra hours of patrolling just because I was just at awe. We also did a night raid of a OPFOR tent camp, did you know that if you have a strong IR light backlighting swedish tents you can count the people inside if they are using the stove? I found that out that night and it was fun to see everyone going to bed before giving the wake up call!
Checking the prices back then for a guy at 19 was a big disappointment.
Fast forward to about 2014 and i'm a lot bigger in the airsoft scene and Gen3's were starting to find their way around. And yes, unfortunately ITAR scoped stuff, but i'm happier them being in the hands of airsofters than the jihads. Lesser of two evils I guess.
I start of by getting really into it and get a Gen1+!!!!
First OP and I can say that it was better for me to just use my eyes instead of that shit. it was great back in the days, but didn't give me much of an advantage today. Got myself a PVS-7 that a friend that was a repotted russian gen-3 and i could finally be useful at night OP's again! Made myself a PVS-5 Bino setup with help of a friend that was a true knowledge bomb. Although problems with power supply i let that go to someone else.
Today's system is a European PVS-14 Gen 3 with Norotos dovetail mount and INVG and i wouldn't trade it for the world. Most versatile system I've ever used!.
My focus today is to bring knowledge to younger generations that are putting their hard earned money into this hobby and making sure they go the quality route. Also starting a business to get things the CORRECT way and giving people the option not having to do back alley shady stuff. My main plan right now is to bring US brands products that aren't ITAR regulated and to also help local organisations as "Missing People" with thermal rentals and education. Want to stop this damn proprietary stuff that is going on between different brands already now.
How I've been in contact with brands you ask? I've been to 4 year IWA in Germany and 3 years SHOT. Although 2019 will be a year i will have to focus more at home so I will miss it. But if there is ever a get-together count me in!
PS. The name is from when "The Matrix" was popular...it's "Choosen" re-done, just like Neo...corny I know. But it rolls of the tongue.
Thanks Senchoo for posting! You’re exactly the type of enthusiast the night vision community needs!!
